Why do I do this? It's not because I want you to buy something. We all have to buy stuff at some point, and when you do, I want it to help you live better. What you get here is a boutique of outstanding small businesses who care that you get what you want and that you walk away knowing you are better off in some way for having done business with them. Why do I care to find these places for you? I care because this is our community. I care because life is too short to waste time dealing with bad service, mediocrity, and people who just want to take our hard-earned money. Gyl Zelesnick, founder of STAR Pilates & Yoga and editor of HORSHAM HUBS MAGAZINE has been a marketing specialist and technical writer for twenty years and a certified Yoga and Pilates instructor for over ten years.
Gyl's marketing background is in pharmaceuticals where she was responsible for direct sales, training sales teams, and writing company manuals. Later, she created and taught Yoga Jungle, the first childrens' yoga program in Hatboro-Horsham, and has taught her own programs in many local facilities including Philadelphia area YMCA’s, dance studios, and a local school district for more than a decade.
In addition to class experience, Gyl graduated from Rowan University with a B.A. in Psychology and specialized in Communications.
Gyl holds four certifications in both yoga and Pilates through AAAI/ISMA (American Aerobics Association International & International Sports Medicine Association) under the expert instruction of the Director of Recreation and Fitness at Temple University. Currently, she offers individual sessions for Pilates, yoga, and fitness counseling.
